How Conversion works with Knak
Conversion connects to Knak as a custom marketing automation platform, so Knak users can sync email assets straight into Conversion. Each sync pulls the asset's HTML, subject, preview text, and sender details into a draft blast, or into a workflow email when the asset name carries the WORKFLOW marker, and later syncs update that same email in place. Knak syncs emails only, and your Conversion account team enables the integration for your workspace.
What you can do
Blasts or workflow emails
Assets sync as draft blasts by default. Add <WORKFLOW> anywhere in an asset's name and it lands as a workflow email instead, with the marker removed.
Updates in place
Each Knak asset links to exactly one Conversion email, so re-syncing updates that email's draft content and keeps its topic and theme settings.
Sync into an existing email
Name a Knak asset with a Conversion email's ID, and the sync writes its content onto that email while the email keeps its name.
Senders stay governed
Conversion matches the asset's from and reply-to addresses to your existing senders and never creates new ones. If nothing matches, you set the sender before sending.

How to connect Knak
- 1 Ask your Conversion account team to enable Knak, so the Knak card appears under Settings > Integrations.
- 2 In Knak Admin, create a Conversion API User role and an API user with it, then sign in as that user and generate a permanent API key.
- 3 Add a Knak webhook with the webhook URL from the Knak card in Conversion, a secret you choose, and the asset.sync_requested event.
- 4 Create a custom MAP integration in Knak named Conversion, with Asset Sync Types set to Email and Merge Tag Platform Format set to None.
- 5 Back in Conversion, enter the webhook secret and API key on the Knak card and click Connect. Saving the connection requires the Administrator role.
