How Conversion works with LinkedIn Ads

Conversion connects to LinkedIn Ads to sync audiences, bring Lead Gen Form leads in as contacts, and show campaign performance in the Ads dashboard. Members of a linked Conversion audience upload to a LinkedIn matched audience, and each lead from a synced form creates or updates a contact by email. An optional Tracking toggle ties each site visit from an ad to its campaign group, campaign, and creative.

What you can do

Audiences that keep up

Link a static or dynamic Conversion audience to a matched audience. Current members upload when you link it, and new members upload as they join, whether they match its filters or a workflow adds them.

Lead Gen Form leads as contacts

Each lead from a synced form creates or updates a contact and records a form submission, so it can start a workflow like any other form fill. The form's own settings decide whether new leads are subscribed and synced to your CRM.

Visits traced to the ad

Turn on Tracking once per ad account, and the Conversion tracking script records the campaign group, campaign, and creative behind each visit. Campaigns you create later inherit it.

Performance next to contacts

The Ads dashboard charts impressions, clicks, cost per click, and click-through rate alongside the contacts Conversion has tied to each campaign and ad.

How to connect LinkedIn Ads

  1. 1 In Settings > Ads, connect LinkedIn with a user who is an admin on the ad account, then link the ad accounts you want to use.
  2. 2 Optionally turn on Tracking for each ad account so LinkedIn adds Conversion's parameters to your ads' landing page URLs.
  3. 3 Open a Conversion audience, go to the Ads audiences tab, and link it to a LinkedIn audience in a linked ad account.
  4. 4 Once lead gen forms are enabled for your workspace, choose New form > Sync a LinkedIn form, pick the ad account and form, and map the question that holds the email.

LinkedIn Ads integration FAQ

Yes.

Connecting requires admin access to the LinkedIn ad account. Syncing Lead Gen Forms also requires a Super admin, Content admin, or Lead Gen Forms manager role on the Company Page tied to that ad account. The Page role is separate from ad account access, so confirm both before you sync a form.

No. Conversion reads campaign groups, campaigns, and ads to report on them and doesn't edit them. It adds contacts to the audiences you link, and with Tracking on, it sets its URL parameters at the ad account level.

LinkedIn identifies the member behind each submission, so Conversion updates the existing contact, including its email, instead of creating a duplicate. Turn on Create new contacts for new email addresses in the form's settings if you want each new email to create its own contact.

No. LinkedIn doesn't apply dynamic tracking parameters to Sponsored Messaging. Use a synced Lead Gen Form as the button action, and leads are attributed to the campaign automatically. For buttons that open your website, add Conversion's parameters to the button URL by hand.
